Christmas in the Castle


By Alexander Alexandrut, 5th Class We had an amazing time participating in Christmas activities in Drimnagh Castle Primary. Santa Fun Run On Wednesday, 13th December all the boys took part in an obstacle course with fun obstacles and a lap of running. Students made €2 donations for new Maths equipment, and we also raised €525 this year! CoderDojo Programme


Well done to the 5th and 6th class boys who completed the CoderDojo course in Trinity as part of the Trinity Access Programme. The boys graduated on the 9th of December and received certificates and goodie bags for all their hard work over the past few weeks.

3rd Class Swimming and SESE by Danas Kutko in Ms. Murphy’s Class


We started swimming this term with room 2 . We walk up on Tuesday afternoons with our teachers. There are 3 groups in swimming, the first group in swimming. The first group is in the shallow  end and are all new to swimming. The second group is working on improving their skills. The 3rd group is in the deep end and are doing more advanced skills. My favourite part is doing swimming drills and other boys like diving underwater. The coaches are really nice and encourage us. Settling into Drimnagh Castle by Milo Brennan in Ms. Rodger’s 2nd Class


I know it might be scary in a new school but we, the 2nd class boys, moved to Drimnagh Castle in September . Our school is very big and we are learning lots of new things. 5th Class Rugby by Divyam Gunoory in Ms. Keane’s class


This month we are learning to play rugby with Gareth, a coach from Leinster rugby. We played flush the toilet but you have to tap the rugby ball and cremate had cones and whenever the catcher tap you your back or any were and you are out. We  have played some tag rugby matches and are really enjoying it!

6th Class Boxing and Cycling by Callum Egan in Mr. Briody’s Class


This month in 6th class we have started boxing with Ed. We have learned boxing skills such as sparing and we have been focusing on improving our fitness. We have also started cycling to improve our road safety skills. John brings in bikes for us to use and we cycle in the yard.We have really enjoyed our first month in 6th class!

Junior Entrepreneur Programme (JEP)


Junior Entrepreneur Showcase Over the past year the sixth class in room 15, with assistance from Ms Timbs and Ms Walsh, have participated in the Junior Entrepreneur Programme. We have been working hard on this project and here is what we’ve done so far. At the start we were split into four teams and each group they decided on an idea. Room 13’s Trip To Milano


Last month Mr O Connor’s Room 13 went on a trip to Milano’s on Dawson Street in the city centre. We got the 123 into the city center and walked to Dawson Street and eventually arrived at Milano’s. We first washed our hands and then got an apron and a hat with numbers on them. After that we practiced shaping out the dough into the pizza shape.
