Last week in class, we did a science lesson about making homemade toothpaste. We used lots of ingredients. We used 3 teaspoons of bread soda, ½ a teaspoon of salt, 2 teaspoons of glycerin, 1 teaspoon of peppermint and 2 teaspoons of water.
The equipment we used was a plastic teaspoon and a plastic cup.
We mixed together 3 teaspoons of bread soda and a teaspoon of salt in the container.
We added 2 teaspoons of glycerine to this.
We added 1 teaspoon of peppermint essence to the mixture until it formed a thick paste.
After that, we added a few drops of water at a time until it was the correct thickness.
Then we brushed our teeth! It was great. The toothpaste smelled really nice.
