In January, we unfortunately had to be dragged out of the house and back to school. It was not that bad considering we had the coffee morning to look forward to. The coffee morning is an event in our school which takes place 2 or 3 times a year. The students’ parents or guardians can come and take them down to the hall for about 10 to 15 minutes. Down in the hall they were greeted by a staff member selling raffle tickets. The raffle tickets were 2 euro each and you had a high chance of winning a good prize. They included a big hamper for first place and lots of sweets and chocolate for the other winners. The parents could buy one if they wish. Then, they would walk around and buy items from the two tables setup in the hall. They included drinks, muffins, cakes, sweets, coffee for the parents and lots more. All the items on the tables were brought in by students who wanted to help out. They helped out a lot and there was hundreds of items on sale. I myself brought in Jaffa Cakes and Jammy Dodgers. By the time I got down they were all gone. You were also allowed to bring your friends. I went with my friend Jamie Hickey. All the staff members sold everything and made a lot of money. All the money was put towards the school getting equipment for stuff. I am sure they got a lot of new equipment with the amount of money we raised.
